Family Law

Matters of the family that require legal assistance fall under the family law area.  These can include marriage, divorce, cohabitation, child or spousal abuse, domestic violence, child custody, adoption, visitation, alimony, property ownership, etc.

Most family law matters fall under the jurisdiction of State or county family law courts.  Granting of divorces and settling issues of child custody, alimony, child support, visitation and property settlement take the vast amount of resources of the court.  In many divorces, issues many need to be revisited often as the children grow.  Child support and visitation issues tend to find their way back to the courts regularly.
