Mesothelioma Research

There are many research facilities devoted to finding new treatments and prevention of Mesothelioma.  Because current chemotherapy and drugs have not been very effective in treating Mesothelioma further research is pressing to find new drugs and treatments for the disease.

New drugs such as ranpirnase and suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid show promise of longer life in Mesothelioma diagnosed patients in clinical trials. Gene therapy using modified viruses that attack the cancerous cells also shows promise in trials.  Mesothelioma research is ongoing in the United States in an effort to vanquish this killer disease.
